Next up is the speakers.

Originally I wanted to use car speakers, and in fact I bought some already. But after experimenting with them, I found that they sound absolutely horrible with an open back. After all they are designed for an enclosed space like inside of a car cabin. So I either have to build box enclosures for them, or try something else. In the end I took the easy route and just used computer speakers.

So it happens I have a spare set of Logitech X-230 2.1 speakers, so that’s why I’ll use.

And then I used some grille trim/mesh designed for 6×9″ car speakers, and fitted them to the bottom screen panel. It took a bit of time to cut a nice hole but in the end it looks okay.
